Do you know how important traffic is to the life of your website?

Of course you do. So do I now It’s something I have been learning about the hard way over the last few months. You may be struggling with it as well. I didn’t even know what it was until this year.

But there’s been a problem and that’s been that nobody has ever showed you how to do actually do it.

Not only that but a lot of these social sites don’t like you posting your website links and affiliate links all over the place so you can sometimes end up getting blocked or just not getting any traffic.

Well I found myself in the same position - I knew a little bit about social marketing, enough to be dangerous. But the problem was that although I was spending plenty of hours on these websites I just wasn’t getting any traffic or sales.

WHAT IS SOCIAL MARKETING?

Some people call it social marketing, others web 2.0. , I have even heard it called new age marketing which conjures up all sorts of images, but the fact of the matter is this - you need to be using the social marketing websites to your advantage because there’s tons of free traffic to be had from them. It’s a huge development on the internet and ignore it at your peril!

WHO ARE THEY?

They are the big names like MySpace, Facebook and others who are not only dominating news stories now, they are starting to play a really big part in driving traffic to marketers pages online. The problem though is this…

… social sites don’t like marketers! It’s true! So you have to be careful when you are using them that you don’t get banned or caught out. The key is to adopt this simple “4 H’s” approach;

Humor
Honesty
Have fun
Help people

As long as you can inject just a little piece of humor into your social marketing profile or even just a little piece of who you really are then you will start attracting lots of friends and widening your network. That’s one of the keys to this new market.

You also need to be honest throughout. There is no point uploading photos of Britney Spears or Mark Ronson pretending they’re people who want to get to know you or uploading a photo for your own profile that is much more good looking than you! So be honest.

Have fun! This is one of the most exciting things about social marketing. Its great fun . Meeting new people, learning new stuff and making money from the traffic that you get from it all at the same time. not to mention that you feel part of a friendly circle. You needn’t be on your own. It certainly makes that big world out there seem much smaller!

So you help people and they will help you. You add useful links and recommendations to your profiles. Point people in the right direction and answer any questions people post on your profile. Communicate with them, its fun.

BUT WHAT ARE THE SECRETS TO MASSIVE SOCIAL TRAFFIC?

Easy You need to learn how to get on these sites and how to maximize them. A word of warning though, they can become addictive!

Scrutinizing the security of these web assets on the network for possible vulnerabilities is overriding. All modern database systems may be accessed all the way to specific ports and anyone can attempt unswerving connections to the databases effectively to evade the security apparatus used by the operating system. Acunetix Web Vulnerability Scanner guarantees website security by automatically checking for SQL injection, Cross site scripting and other troubles in the web. It verifies password strength on authentication pages and mechanically inspects the web applications. When the scan is complete, the software creates thorough reports and locates where the vulnerabilities come from.

This technique allows only certain predefined IP addresses to access the web site. Usually this method is used to curb the audience of the web site to precise physical areas or user communities. A widespread use would be a library that purchases a web-enabled database. The license for the record or database might denote that only users on a particular campus can access a source as a result, the web site’s IP address limitations would be set to contradict everyone. A good number of web servers hold up very granular levels of IP restrictions. IP address restrictions are an uncomplicated way to confine a web sites, but are fully dependent on being able to classify the restricted audience by series of IP addresses.

A Computer Virus is a kind of “Malware” (or malicious software for short) that continuously attempts to spread itself from one file to another.

Computer viruses works a lot like human viruses as they are programs designed to propagate and create copies in the computers hard disk memory and infect other computers as well. This occurs beyond the users awareness.

The belief that viruses are programs designed to destroy or delete hard disk data is a misconception. Because technically speaking, viruses are only designed to make copies of itself and the damage it causes is most often incidental.

Therefore the damage caused by viruses is somewhat “unintentional” and caused by the continuous increase of infected files in the system.

Viruses are acquired when an infected file (or the virus itself) is introduced to the system. This commonly occurs when you get an infected removable storage device from other people or and through an e-mail attachment. The virus installs itself in your system and usually remains hidden to prevent detection.

One of the symptoms of having a virus is the sudden drop in the performance of the computer speed. This is due to the virus taking up too much space in your hard disk memory.

Another is the disability of certain functions of your computer, viruses can infect important files of your operating system disabling some of the system’s functions in the process, leaving it open to other malware attacks.

The best way of combating computer virus is preventing it from getting into your system.

This also applies in the prevention of malwares that can disable your antivirus once it infiltrates your computer. The most popular tool for virus prevention is a virus scanner, it works to scan a file if it is harmful or not. If it detects a speck of malicious code it neutralizes it and gives you and option to delete the file or clean the file (options vary with the virus scanner).

Another tool which is equally as effective as the virus scanner is ‘common sense’. Never run or open any file sent from the email or from other people unless you are sure that it does not contain virus, it is est to delete it right away. Beware of the hazards of downloading stuff from the internet, chances are, you are downloading a malware.

When you decide to create a website, you are deciding on more than just what to put on your pages and how to make them look pretty. You need to find a home for your site, also known as its domain. For that, you’ll have to create a domain name and then find out whether it’s available for your use. This is called a domain search or domain check.

To start your search, first start by making a list of domains you would like to register. Consider choosing names that relate in some meaningful way to the products and services your business provides, and one that is easy to remember and spell. You want people to be able to find you!

Once you have your list of potential domains, hop online and start searching. Enter the name you want into the Address field of a web browser. If you are taken to a website, that domain is already owned. If you get an error message, you’re in luck: The site is probably not registered.

Another way is to go online and look for one of the myriad sites that allow you to search for domain names. This one-stop-shopping approach may save you some time.

When you find a domain that isn’t registered, don’t rush to register the first available one. Check out several combinations before making up your mind. And don’t automatically run for the .com version of your domain. Although the most popular option, a .com suffix may not be necessary for your business. If you can’t find an available domain name that you want with a .com extension, consider trying one that is particular for your own country, such as co.uk for the U.K. If your business isn’t necessarily international, there may be no good reason to give up the name you want just because the .com version is taken.

That being said, if your business is based in the U.S. or if you plan on doing international business, stick with a .com version rather than a .biz, .net, .tv or any other suffix available if at all possible. Otherwise, you will potentially lose business to the more popular .com site.

Don’t get your heart set on one particular domain name; that’s a recipe for disappointment. Make sure each domain name on your list is one you could happily live with, because chances are good that at least one of them will be available. If you go into your domain check with the intention of only being satisfied if one of your top three is available, you are almost sure to be disappointed.

If you start to get discouraged during your domain check, keep this in mind: In some industries, there are domain names for every two dictionary words. That is near impossible competition! But with a little patience you can find a great domain name. Try using synonyms for the keywords you want to use, or try an alternate (but still memorable) spelling. For example, if your business is called Cut n Paste but www.cutnpaste.com is already taken, consider www.cutpaste.com instead. It’s still easily associated with your business and easily remembered!

Finally, another way to perform a domain name check is to use software. There is a variety of software choices out there that can quickly and effortlessly generate thousands of potential domain names based on the criteria you specify.

No matter how you perform your domain check, it is important to approach the process with an open mind and a measure of patience. You may not be able to snag your first, second or even third domain name choice, but that doesn’t mean you can’t end up with a memorable domain name that will help drive traffic to your site and make your business a booming success!

Most webmasters know the significance of the Keyword. They also know that to increase the organic search results of a website, you have to adopt successful Off Page and On Page Search Engine Optimization strategies. Here we shall consider On Page Search Engine Optimization strategies and the vital role Keyword plays to increase your website ranking on search engine results pages.

Single keywords are highly competitive today; hence it is advisable and easier to optimize for a keyword phrase rather than a single keyword. In this manner you stand a chance of ranking higher in the search engine results. How and where you place the keywords or keyword phrase can make all the difference between success and failure.

1. Page’s Title Tag:

It is very important that you have your keyword or keyword phrase in the title tag. It will be even better if you can make it the first word or phrase in the title.

2. Description Tag:

It is also necessary to insert your keyword or keyword phrase in the Description tag at least once.

3. Meta Tag:

Google and some of the major search engines no longer consider this important; nevertheless there are some search engines that do place importance to this. No harm will be done by including your main keywords here and reap the rewards from these search engines too.

4. Keywords in your H tags:

You should ensure that your specific keywords appear in a headline H1 tag in your page since search engines are on the look out for such tags. This is the code used to display your headline in large type. This tag should be used only once and should be at the top of the page.

Having sub titles by including your keywords in them and using H2 and H3 tags once each will also be very effective and attract the search engines.

5. Bold Text or Italicized Text:

Since search engines give more consideration for bolded and italicized text compared to regular or normal text, it will be advantageous to have your keywords in bold or italicized text once or twice in the page. Don’t do it in excess since Google can construe it as Black Hat tactics and penalize you.

6. In the Content:

Content is King and the Keywords in your content certainly takes pride of place. Place your keyword or keyword phrase within the first two lines of your content and at the bottom of your web page. This clearly indicates to the search engine what your website is all about. You should of course place your keywords judiciously right throughout the content so that there is a natural flow in the content. Do not stuff your content with keywords. Search Engines can penalize you for keyword stuffing. About 3%-5% of the text will be considered as reasonable.

7. Use Alt on Images with Keywords:

Search engines cannot read images; hence it is important to ensure that you use alt text for every image on your web page. Include your keyword in the text. This helps the search engine to know what the image is about and also helps the speech synthesizers for the blind.

8. In URL:

If your website is up and running with a designated URL, you will not be able to make any changes. But it is important that you give serious thought when you choose the Domain Name for your website at the initial stage itself. It is advantageous to have your prime keyword or words in the URL and preferably at the beginning of the URL.

Conclusion:

It is not everyone who can optimize a web page. It certainly needs skills, effort and patience but it can be done by webmasters themselves. On page search engine optimization is absolutely necessary to reap the benefits of having a website.

Having better search engine ranking is always important for any website. Research shows that if you want to get the desired traffic you want then your website should be within the top 10 in the search engines. Then only you will get the amount of traffic you want.

Competition to get into the top 10 and stick there is not easy. For this you have to know the better use of Search engine Optimization for achieving the coveted rankings.

When somebody tries to find some thing through search engine they either that person end up having lots of searched pages else he or she will find nothing in the search engine. Basically what search engine does is try to find out the sites that are related to the individual words typed in the search engine or the whole phase that is typed in the search engine.

So to get good traffic it is always advisable to get better search engine rankings. To get better rank it is always preferable to have as many possible related back links from other sites. This will help the search engines to recognize your site. This is one of the fastest means for getting good traffic. The targeted audience must get pleased with the content of the site. So naturally the income form the site will increase with growing number of traffics.

Getting any type of links is not the solution for getting good ranks. They will never help you in it. Sometimes a well on page optimized site cannot get good search engine rank only because of irrelevant link exchange. This is always a short term solutions. You always require high quality link exchange for better ranking. High quality links means you will get links from higher page rank site and that site also has to be relevant to your site.

Beside backlinks lot depends on the effective use of the content of the page. The content should contain the targeted keywords and phases in such a fashion that they make some senses. But be careful. Because if search engine algorithms found that you are deliberately using the keywords then they may penalize you and drop down your website ranks. So you have to maintain the high quality and also the keyword density so that it will appear natural to the visitors and as well as to the search engine algorithms. If all this are maintained properly then automatically you will get good ranks in the search engines. The visitors must always get satisfied with the content of the page. If the visitors get impressed with your site then naturally they will post your link on their site. So we can see that content of the site is very important to improve search engine rank. The better the quality of the website better will be the link popularity which in turn will increase your search engine rank.

Don’t use any unethical ways for search engine optimization. Irrelevant link exchange is one type of unethical off page optimization. Hiding repetitive keywords tactfully is another type unethical on page optimization. Unethical ways can penalize your site.

If Search Engine Optimization is used in a proper way then your site will definitely get higher rank in the search engines.

I have now completed parts A, B and C to my new SEO Glosssary and to date I can not believe some of the terms and definitions that I have come across. I am now sure that most SEO webmasters have added a SEO glossary to their website and are just paying lip service to it to fill a page.

The process that I adopted to begin research was to input SEO Glossary into Google search and to pick twenty websites from the first ten pages of results. I then collated all results for the said terms applicable to A,B and C, I then filtered and selected the ones that filled my SEO glossary template.

Some of the glossary terms are not as clear and defined as I would have liked them to be, but I have now made the decision to keep it as natural as possible, so that visitors reading my article will understand that my results so far are a mixture of results across the search engine optimization community.

Phase two of my article collection will be covering parts D, E and F. I can now see a pattern appearing within the pages of my article. Some site owners are using glossary pages to fill web space and are not inserting enough effort and time to research the glossary terms, in certain cases I can see cut and paste options.

I will now continue the process, lets hope that their is better definitions in parts D, E, and F.

Regards DW.
