Most webmasters know the significance of the Keyword. They also know that to increase the organic search results of a website, you have to adopt successful Off Page and On Page Search Engine Optimization strategies. Here we shall consider On Page Search Engine Optimization strategies and the vital role Keyword plays to increase your website ranking on search engine results pages.
Single keywords are highly competitive today; hence it is advisable and easier to optimize for a keyword phrase rather than a single keyword. In this manner you stand a chance of ranking higher in the search engine results. How and where you place the keywords or keyword phrase can make all the difference between success and failure.
1. Page’s Title Tag:
It is very important that you have your keyword or keyword phrase in the title tag. It will be even better if you can make it the first word or phrase in the title.
2. Description Tag:
It is also necessary to insert your keyword or keyword phrase in the Description tag at least once.
3. Meta Tag:
Google and some of the major search engines no longer consider this important; nevertheless there are some search engines that do place importance to this. No harm will be done by including your main keywords here and reap the rewards from these search engines too.
4. Keywords in your H tags:
You should ensure that your specific keywords appear in a headline H1 tag in your page since search engines are on the look out for such tags. This is the code used to display your headline in large type. This tag should be used only once and should be at the top of the page.
Having sub titles by including your keywords in them and using H2 and H3 tags once each will also be very effective and attract the search engines.
5. Bold Text or Italicized Text:
Since search engines give more consideration for bolded and italicized text compared to regular or normal text, it will be advantageous to have your keywords in bold or italicized text once or twice in the page. Don’t do it in excess since Google can construe it as Black Hat tactics and penalize you.
6. In the Content:
Content is King and the Keywords in your content certainly takes pride of place. Place your keyword or keyword phrase within the first two lines of your content and at the bottom of your web page. This clearly indicates to the search engine what your website is all about. You should of course place your keywords judiciously right throughout the content so that there is a natural flow in the content. Do not stuff your content with keywords. Search Engines can penalize you for keyword stuffing. About 3%-5% of the text will be considered as reasonable.
7. Use Alt on Images with Keywords:
Search engines cannot read images; hence it is important to ensure that you use alt text for every image on your web page. Include your keyword in the text. This helps the search engine to know what the image is about and also helps the speech synthesizers for the blind.
8. In URL:
If your website is up and running with a designated URL, you will not be able to make any changes. But it is important that you give serious thought when you choose the Domain Name for your website at the initial stage itself. It is advantageous to have your prime keyword or words in the URL and preferably at the beginning of the URL.
Conclusion:
It is not everyone who can optimize a web page. It certainly needs skills, effort and patience but it can be done by webmasters themselves. On page search engine optimization is absolutely necessary to reap the benefits of having a website.

Having better search engine ranking is always important for any website. Research shows that if you want to get the desired traffic you want then your website should be within the top 10 in the search engines. Then only you will get the amount of traffic you want.
Competition to get into the top 10 and stick there is not easy. For this you have to know the better use of Search engine Optimization for achieving the coveted rankings.
When somebody tries to find some thing through search engine they either that person end up having lots of searched pages else he or she will find nothing in the search engine. Basically what search engine does is try to find out the sites that are related to the individual words typed in the search engine or the whole phase that is typed in the search engine.
So to get good traffic it is always advisable to get better search engine rankings. To get better rank it is always preferable to have as many possible related back links from other sites. This will help the search engines to recognize your site. This is one of the fastest means for getting good traffic. The targeted audience must get pleased with the content of the site. So naturally the income form the site will increase with growing number of traffics.
Getting any type of links is not the solution for getting good ranks. They will never help you in it. Sometimes a well on page optimized site cannot get good search engine rank only because of irrelevant link exchange. This is always a short term solutions. You always require high quality link exchange for better ranking. High quality links means you will get links from higher page rank site and that site also has to be relevant to your site.
Beside backlinks lot depends on the effective use of the content of the page. The content should contain the targeted keywords and phases in such a fashion that they make some senses. But be careful. Because if search engine algorithms found that you are deliberately using the keywords then they may penalize you and drop down your website ranks. So you have to maintain the high quality and also the keyword density so that it will appear natural to the visitors and as well as to the search engine algorithms. If all this are maintained properly then automatically you will get good ranks in the search engines. The visitors must always get satisfied with the content of the page. If the visitors get impressed with your site then naturally they will post your link on their site. So we can see that content of the site is very important to improve search engine rank. The better the quality of the website better will be the link popularity which in turn will increase your search engine rank.
Donât use any unethical ways for search engine optimization. Irrelevant link exchange is one type of unethical off page optimization. Hiding repetitive keywords tactfully is another type unethical on page optimization. Unethical ways can penalize your site.
If Search Engine Optimization is used in a proper way then your site will definitely get higher rank in the search engines.

I have now completed parts A, B and C to my new SEO Glosssary and to date I can not believe some of the terms and definitions that I have come across. I am now sure that most SEO webmasters have added a SEO glossary to their website and are just paying lip service to it to fill a page.
The process that I adopted to begin research was to input SEO Glossary into Google search and to pick twenty websites from the first ten pages of results. I then collated all results for the said terms applicable to A,B and C, I then filtered and selected the ones that filled my SEO glossary template.
Some of the glossary terms are not as clear and defined as I would have liked them to be, but I have now made the decision to keep it as natural as possible, so that visitors reading my article will understand that my results so far are a mixture of results across the search engine optimization community.
Phase two of my article collection will be covering parts D, E and F. I can now see a pattern appearing within the pages of my article. Some site owners are using glossary pages to fill web space and are not inserting enough effort and time to research the glossary terms, in certain cases I can see cut and paste options.
I will now continue the process, lets hope that their is better definitions in parts D, E, and F.

If you use Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing (formerly known as Overture) for your pay per click advertising, you’ll want to “listen up”. There’s a new competitor on the scene “MSN Ad Center”. Microsoft’s pay per click program is called “MSN Keywords” which is the first of several advertising options they have planned.
At the time of this writing the only way to participate in this “pilot program” is by invitation only. Rumor has it they should be going public with the launch towards the middle of this year. If you’d like to be considered for participation you can sign up at … http://advertising.msn.com/searchadv/PilotForm.asp
If you’re already a client you can log into your account at http://adcenter.msn.com
The program, which is very similar to Google Adwords allows you to bid on keywords associated with your online business and your ads will be displayed on MSN’s search results pages reaching a potential audience of 49 million people every month.
Once approved for the program you’ll need to create your own “ad center” account. The sign up fee of $5.00 will be charged to your credit card at that time.
The next step is to select the keywords you want your ads to appear for and how much you want to bid for each. The minimum bid is five cents. You’re only charged for actual clicks on your ads not for their display. There is no minimum monthly budget. You’ll also find a keyword research tool under the research tab to brainstorm new keywords or check on keyword performance.
If you already use “Google Adwords” or “Yahoo Search Marketing” you can easily import your existing ads and keyword lists. If you need assistance you can use what’s called “Quick Launch” where a marketing analyst will assist you with your account setup. During beta there is no charge for this assistance.
One of the nicest feature of MSN’s pay per click program is the “advanced targeting”. You can select the target markets you want to reach (male, female, by age). You also can select locations, specific countries/regions, even select cities where you want your ads to appear. How about choosing the days of the week you want your ads to run, right down to the time? Yes, you can do it all right here. This is possible due to MSN’s use of “audience data” to better target your ads to the audience who would be most interested in your offer. They call this “Audience Intelligence” which allows you to make smarter decisions when it comes to your online marketing campaigns.
You can also track conversions with their free conversion tracking.
Setting up your text ads is simple following their guidelines. You have four lines to work with:
Title Line (25 characters max, incl. spaces) 2nd & 3rd Line (70 characters max, incl. spaces) 4th Line (this is for your url, 35 characters) For more specific style guidelines see http://tinyurl.com/cevu4 .
For content guidelines
see http://tinyurl.com/7ue53
You’ll find a “reports tab” in the ad center so you can keep an eye on how well your campaigns are doing. You can track click through rates, impressions, and more.
If you’re already using pay per click marketing in your online marketing efforts, you might want to take MSN for a spin. With their advanced targeting you’ll be given the ability to hit your target market with more precision, and expand your reach and online exposure.
For more information visit the learning center http://tinyurl.com/b786r or see the AdCenter Blog for members at http://blogs.msdn.com/adcenter/

In order to make your own
MySpace layout, you need to consider three things, namely the background properties, the text properties and the scrollbar and cursor properties. Let’s have a look at each of these.
Background: To fix your MySpace background, you need to decide on a few things like the background position, the background color, and background image. First of all decide the position where the background will begin. This could range from upper right corner to bottom left. Next, fix the background color and background border. The color chosen should be pleasing and suit the theme that you are promoting. It should blend with the text color so that readability of the text is good Next select the border thickness and color.
Animation and graphics: You can have a variety of animation choices and graphics. You can choose the one that would suit your taste, theme and group.
Text: Decide what you want to display on your pages. The matter for the main text should be carefully prepared so that it conveys whatever you are communicating. The title text and sub-title texts should reflect, in brief, the contents. Decide on the links and provide them.
Scrollbar: You can choose the color of the arrow, scrollbar, highlighting and face color.
So that’s what you need to do in brief. How do you go about it? There are plenty of sites that offer you ready made and customizable MySpace layouts. You could start with one of them to save trouble and make sure that all aspects are taken care of.
Your MySpace layout will also need to consider the contact table that you want to attach it to. There are hundreds of ready to use contact tables available that take care of various categories and requirements. Select one that will suit your particular theme and requirements.
Once you have decided what your layout would look like, you can easily make it using one of the many templates that are available. These usually allow you to choose the particular look and feel that you prefer from a large library offering choices for each component of the layout.

Guestbookâs are some of the most popular areas on websites. Before a consumer does business with you, they are likely to check out your guestbook. Guestbookâs are somewhat like testimonials in that they offer real feedback on your site, your business, and your products. They are honest and are created from those that have had some sort of experience with your business or those who simply visit your site. Signing other guestbookâs or creating your own can really help your website. If you are considering creating a guestbook or want to sign other guestbookâs, check out these great reasons on why you should.
Get Your Name Out There
Anytime you sign a guestbook you are taking the opportunity to get your websiteâs name out there. When signing, be sure to offer a positive and honest comment about their site or products. Make sure you are saying something worth reading however and not simply plugging your own site. At the end of your comment however, be sure to include a little tag with your website link and your business name however. When other people read the guestbook, which many people often do, they will not only see the comments made but also see your link and possibly visit your site as well. This is particularly true if they liked what you said on the guestbook. So, be sure to think about what you write and try to subtly draw people to your link. This is an inexpensive and quick way to increase your websiteâs traffic without a lot of effort.
Support Other Websites
By signing a websiteâs guestbook you are basically lending your support. This is a great thing to do with other websites, because if you offer your support to their website, they are likely to return the favor regarding your site. Anytime you can positively network with other website operators, you will likely benefit in one way or another. Be sure that anything you ever post about another website is positive however. Even the smallest criticism can really be taken incorrectly and can harm your relationship or potential relationship between your site and theirs. Who knows, you could eventually work an advertising plan out with other websites in an exchange deal.
Validate Yourself or Your Business
When you create a guestbook for others to sign upon visiting your website, you are essentially opening yourself up for honestly. You are allowing others to post exactly what they feel about your business or website. This can be scary for some, but visitors to your site will see it differently. Having a guestbook is especially important if you are offering products or services online. This is a great and inexpensive way for potential customers to feel more comfortable doing business with you. Many consumers are afraid of being ripped off via the web, so anytime you can offer positive comments from previous customers, you will make potential clients feel good about your business. When they read positive information, they will be more likely to trust you with their money. You are telling them subtly that you are not afraid of what others will say, because you conduct business in fair and decent manners.
Get That Feedback
Another reason to create a guestbook on your site is to get feedback from visitors. This can be very helpful if your site is new. You may want visitors to tell you what they like or donât like about the sight. Of course, you always want them to be constructive and not mean, but honesty is the key to this method. By getting feedback, you can make changes and create the best website you can. You can also get feedback telling you exactly who is visiting your site. This will help you identify the groups your site targets and therefore allow you to make decisions to that effect. By allowing others to give you feedback, you are offering yourself the potential to create a site that is strictly for the user, which is a quality most great websites possess.
As you can see, guestbookâs are very useful, whether you are signing someone elseâs or creating your own. They are inexpensive to use and can provide loads of information and traffic for your site. So, if your site does not have a guestbook, strongly think about adding one. And, when you notice a guestbook on a site you are visiting, donât pass up the opportunity to sign it and add a little about your website and yourself!

I found this article whilst browsing link building topics and thought, I should let my visitors have a read of this one.
It is important to understand what a link building service can provide for you if you are thinking of hiring these services from a company. There are also a few things you should require before buying link building services. You don’t want a link building service that has a bad reputation or uses unethical methods for sending out your site. This will give you a bad reputation too.
Link building is the process of creating links to your website through other websites. These links will be inbound to your business.
For instance, you might have several articles written about your company that have links embedded in the text that the reader can click on that will take them directly to your site. You might have images on other sites that are direct links to your website also. Link building helps increase traffic to your website and is very popular today.
A link building service is a company you can hire that will take care of link building for you. They will write articles relevant to your products or services with links included that take readers to your site. The articles will be posted throughout the web. They will provide link building services throughout the Internet. These services are designed to provide maximum exposure to your business and services that you provide.
There are several points that you should take into consideration before you purchase link building services for your website. You should only purchase links through websites who offer total integrity with their content. Your anchor text should be varied and you should purchase non-keyword links. You should avoid site wide links and automated link spamming. This can give your business a bad name. Image links and ALT text is important and you want a company that offers this.
Many link building services are offered through SEO companies. When you accept these types of services you should expect the popularity of your site to increase, in return increasing the page rank of your site too. Most of the links are built up through other relevant and authority sites. Most companies will do the work of finding the relevant sites that offer their sites as a resource to place a link for your business on.
The primary purpose of link building is to make your business more popular by creating many inbound links into your website. This process will increase the traffic to your site and in return it will improve your site ranking through Alexa. Increasing the site ranking can make your site more valuable if you are interested in selling the domain but it can also improve sales for your business when the traffic increases substantially.
A link building service is designed to improve your website by increasing the traffic to your business website. You should be sure the links you purchase are on websites with quality content and practice total integrity. You don’t want links created on your website through a site that has been blacklisted by search engines for spamming or uses unethical methods for sending out your links.
Be sure you agree with their methods and you like the content.

A website is only as good as the number of visitors it attracts. You need visitors to be successful in marketing and selling your products or services. Without traffic even the best looking website is doomed for failure. Unfortunately there are many scams on the internet designed to trap desperate webmasters. This article highlights some of the problem areas that any money maker with a home based business should be aware of.
You finally have your website published and you are as proud as any parent would be of a new addition to the family. Well, nearly as excited. You cannot wait for visitors to flock to your site and to gulp up everything you have to offer them. You expect to hear the cash register ringing all the time. You expect to sit back and watch the money roll in. After a while you cannot help but acknowledge that nothing is happening and that you are probably the only visitor to your website. Sounds familiar?
The above scenario is all too common on the internet and most successful webmasters started their first website anticipating huge results that never happened. They only started to become successful once they realized that the internet is not a get-rich-quick scheme but that building a successful website takes time, dedication and hard work, like any other business.
As soon as you realize your website is not getting traffic you reach a crossroad â You can take the straight and narrow road that requires more work, but that will take you to your destination, or, the broad road that seems easier to travel on but is actually only a mirage.
Many internet marketers make the mistake of taking the broad road, the easy road. It looks easy at first glance but turns out to be a road leading to nowhere. A typical case of good from far but far from good. Taking this road often involves doing business with dubious sites promising you huge amounts of traffic in exchange for cash. Money that you can often not afford to spend but feel obliged to spend thinking it is the only thing you can do to get people to visit your site. It is the same as a musician giving free tickets away to his concert in the hope that people will buy his album once they have heard him. Actually it is worse. It is more like a musician paying someone to get people to visit his concert. He does not really know where these people come from and are not sure at all whether he will sell any albums to them. If he does sell some albums then he normally does not even make enough money to reimburse himself for his initial investment in getting people to his concern.
This may sound a bit dramatic but is happens every day when internet marketers start getting desperate for traffic. There certainly are sites out there that will deliver the traffic at the right price. Problem is that it is not the type of traffic you need. You may end up getting many âhitsâ but donât be surprised if you get no sales as the people clicking on your site are often poor people in third world countries that get paid cents to click on sites but will never buy anything on the sites they visit. Sad but true. By the way, never subscribe to sites that offer to click on your Google⢠Adsense⢠adverts in your website. Such clicks are fraudulent. Google⢠will find out about it and you may be banned from ever using their tools again.
There are many schemes out there designed to trap desperate webmasters. As a rule, do not spend any money to obtain traffic when you just start out. There is an enormous amount of valuable and free information on the internet that will help you to grow your business. Read up as much as possible on the internet and if you feel a need to invest money at a later stage in legitimate programs like Google⢠Adwords⢠you will be able to make an informed decision.
Remember that if something sounds too good to be true that it normally is too good to be true. Stay on the straight and narrow road to become a money maker and build a successful home based business.

In todayâs global internet business world, to be ranked on âPage Oneâ of Google or any associated search engine is of paramount importance to be successful within your business niche. Professional search engine optimization is being recognized more and more as an essential part of this process.
Achieving page one status is one thing, but more importantly, is holding that position over time.
So to that end, is their scope for business site owner, during the optimization process of there site to pick and choose when and if they require professional help, of course the answer is âYesâ.
I now send out this article as a word of caution. Buying search engine optimization professional consultancy has to be looked at and considered very carefully. In my opinion, if you do not purchase the complete SEO package and decide on buying individual elements of the process. Thereâs a chance that you will be in a complete world of SEO hurt further down the line.
Letâs look at search engine optimization or better still, letâs call it the big SEO Jigsaw.
There is numerous working partâs to SEO all of which impact on each other.
⢠Meta tag purchase, without keyword research?
⢠Buying keyword research, without on page optimization?
⢠On page optimization, without Meta tags and Keyword research?
⢠Off page optimization purchase, without Meta tags, Keyword or on page optimization?
⢠Optimization adjustments, without all of the above?
Summary:
Buying standalone elements of the SEO process is only a sticking plaster solution, believe me it will cure the problem short time and look glossy to a newbie in the SEO business, but in the long term you will need more SEO consultancy, itâs like putting a big juicy worm on the hook and you have just been caught.
I recommend that if you have no experience in optimization. You buy the whole package.
If however you do have a good understanding of the SEO process, the standalone option will indeed help with the overall process of enhancing your sites ranking at the search engines, as long as you understand what impact this buying process has done to your site overall optimization.
